Students can apply to the Health Sciences Academy in the 8th. Students in grades 9 and 10 interested in enrolling will be placed on a wait list; however, there is no guarantee of admission into the program if the student is waitlisted. Waitlisted students must meet the expectations of the Health Sciences Academy with regard to coursework, grades, discipline, and volunteer service ino order to be considered for admission.

An application for the Health Sciences Academy can be obtained from your school counselor. The application will require the following:
  1. A statement from the student as to why he/she is interested in the Health Sciences Academy
  2. A copy of the student's grades / transcript
  3. Two signatures of recommendation - from the school counselor and one from a teacher in communications/English, math, or science

The completed application from 8th grade students must be received by the Health Sciences Academy office by December 15th. Students applying after this date will be placed on teh waitlist. Students not admitted into the Academy due to poor conduct or poor grades can reapply if significant improvement in these areas is demonstrated and space is available.
